Bob - Thanks for the advice! We only had 2-1/2 days so we decided not to overschedule and just try to enjoy our time there. With the two girls, it was a requirement that we go to the American Girl store. But we also made it to Shedd Aquarium and down to Millennium Park to see the Bean. We have some cool pictures of that which I might try to post. Too much to do and not enough time so I guess we'll have to make it back at some point. Maybe when S2(the boy) is a little older.

TG - Cool! While we didn't make it down to the pier we did drive down Ohio and by there on the way out. I have to say that if you're going to live in Chicago that would be the way to do it. I'll remember to ask you for advice the next time we head that way.

We were up in Chi-town in June. (Well, the two older boys and I. . .) My folks live halfway between Michigan Ave and the Lake, right near Navy Pier. Great view from their flat.

Don't know if I'm too late, but since I get a free hotel room every few months, my family and I take advantage of it. The Bean is very cool. The John Hancock Building observation deck. The Shedd Aquarium. The Museum of Science and Industry (especially the model train layout of Chicago-Seattle train lines). Our boys are now 5 & 4. Their last trip was a year ago (Shedd and John Hancock). Previous trips included the others. They are supposed to be moving the Children's Museum (I believe) into the space under the Bean, but that hasn't happened yet. The Bean is cool for small kids because there is a huge open field right next to it for running and playing. If the weather is warm, make sure you go down to the fountain there too. Kids can take their shoes off and play in the 2-3 inch deep water while waiting for the "people" to "spit." I'll let you see what I mean! ;-)

You could look up my niece and her family in Chicago ;-}

I was at a place where I wanted to find a new place to worship myself. It’s so hard. My son is comfortable where we are he has made some friendships that are going to last awhile so we’ll be staying. Things don’t change we just have to decide if we can take it or not.

Doing what is best for my children is important.

I’ll be praying for you and your family.
