Thanks everyone for the encouragement, reminders and laughs! It's always good to know other folks have been where you are and survived. :)

We are doing well. We made it through week 1 and are optimistic about week 2.

'Lenny' is beginning to sleep more, so we hope that will continue. However, I agree with Kathy - I definitely haven't seen him 'sleep like a baby' yet. Hopefully that will change.

Thanks again everyone for the support! I look forward to more good discussions about parenthood in the future.

Congratulations!!!!

I remember learning early on in that particular class that the meaning of the phrase "sleep like a baby" was not what I had thought all those years prior to having one. :-P

By the way, Parenthood 102, 201 and 202 are also subtitled, “You Suck!” So get used to it. :^)

I agree! I seem to know less about it, the older I get. I can't remember the coursework from previous levels, and the labs never work the way the book says. *Sigh*

Fortunately I have these wonderful sons to love, that is the redeeming upside!

It’s a wonderful blessing. Keep telling yourself that. I nursed my daughter because of the son’s health issues. She only wanted me and when I needed rest I went to the bottle. Stood in the kitchen crying my eyes out because she wouldn’t sleep and only wanted me. My husband looked at me apologized for having to go to work and left. It gets better I promise. You’ll find your way.

God bless and BTW they become teenagers in a blink of an eye. I love the teen. Enjoy all phases.

First off, congratulations!!
I wholly agree with Lynn and Jungle Pop, but I will say this. Enjoy him now while you can. In my mind what you are experiencing are some of the best years with your child.
No talking = No back talking.
No walking = No running away.
No independence = dependence. (believe me in 15yrs. you'll be happy if he thinks he still needs you)

Future advice - as my Dad would say, "at about 18 you'll find them sitting on the top of Jack Ass Ridge... They do come down eventually."

Enjoy it while it lasts.

I noticed that Brian conspicuously left out "dating." I think that's a bigger "eek" for me than driving!
