Hooray!!! I have a city named after me!! You think the government officials will recognize it as an official nickname?!

Thanks, J-Mom. Good to hear from you.

Super Suppers!!! :)

Yeah, I immediately thought of that when Jenn referred to Dream Dinners. I'm glad J-Mom mentioned it. I've seen the business but haven't had a chance to go visit.

Brian & Jenn... just one more reason to consider moving to the Big City of Reon. ;)

Lynn,
I'm with you and Reon on this one. I do know exactly what you mean. I owe you a thank you for giving me yet another positive thing to dwell on instead of the unknowns. After all, God (and His grace) is much bigger than all of this put together. Thanks again for the reminder. :D

Now that I have something useful to offer, I'll chime in: There's a place like Dream Dinners that just opened in the Big City of Reon. There was an article in the paper. I'll see what I can find - but I thought of you when I read it !

What?! You mean God doesn't play "Guess What I'm Thinking" with us???

I grew up believing that in order to determine God's will, I had to go into a dark room with a pillow over my head to drown out the "world" so I could hear God's still, small voice, and I couldn't come out until I knew He wanted me to do. If it didn't work, it was because God must not have been pleased with my "walk" lately. It was through an audio tape I got from Brian that I learned how crazy that was.

Part of my coming to earn the respect of the pastor of our new church was when he told the youth group (as he chuckled) that when God wants you to do something, rest assured He'll let you know!

Our Father doesn't leave us to figure out His guessing game. How very freeing.

I understand how you feel with the decision making. I see from the comments that some have been made since the post.

After reading your angst over all these decisions, aren't you glad for people like Garry Friesen and others who give us such relief that we don't have to hit that "bullseye," or find that ever mysterious "dot?"

Can you imagine people going through what you described, and all the perplexity you communicatied being enormously amplified in them, because they feel they have to really nail it down to the *right* decision or they will somehow miss "God's best?"

How sad!

Your post brought home to me that there are many who agonize about hitting a target that God doesn't mean for them to aim at -- not that you were doing that -- it just reminded me of that.

I was catching up on the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://rocksinmydryer.typepad.com/shannon/2006/07/works_for_me_ma.html">"Works for Me Wednesday"</a> tips over at <a rel="nofollow" href="http://rocksinmydryer.typepad.com/">Rocks in My Dryer</a> for this week and came across a tip for easy dinner prep. Go to a place called <a rel="nofollow" href="http://dreamdinners.com">Dream Dinners</a>. I so wish one of these was located near me! This sounds like a blast! Check it out!

(Okay, I should get an award for the most links in a three-line comment...)

Well the deed is done. DD2 is officially a kindergartener. I think her teacher will be a good fit for her. I feel a little better about my decision after being there today, but I've scheduled a conference with DD2's teacher just to let her know my concerns, etc.

DD1 is officially a first grader today. She looks sooo big next to the kindergarteners! And her confidence was just oozing. She is still a little anxious about making new friends, but that will come with time. I think she's going to have a good year, too.

Thanks for the advise, Reon. "An objective opinion is to be valued above rubies." ~ Proverbs 42:8.

(Remember that inerrant and infallible discussion that we haven't finished yet?) ;)

Thanks for the "answers" Reon. :)

Seriously, it's good to have an outside opinion sometimes. As you know, DD2 has the skills to do the work. It's just her listening ability that's suspect at times. She really needs someone who will be understanding but firm. Really though, I can't imagine her being any worse than some of the boys I've seen that are her age. There are some other factors too that would take too long to write about that we may can talk about the next time y'all are in town.

Move East? Quite honestly, whenever we come to the point of being comfortable with moving it's my parents that are the sticking point. I just don't know if they would get over us <em>voluntarily</em> moving 3 hours away from them. Who knows what the future holds though?
